Dr Byte Home support/Call out charge

Standard Call Out Home Visit (09.00-17.00 Mon-Fri): £40.00

An engineer will visit you in your own home or business by prior arrangement. This will include diagnostic and attempted repair for a PC, Laptop, network or associated computer equipment. The majority of faults can be corrected on site, and our engineers carry a range of items to facilitate this. The cost is £40 for upto 1 hour, and £25.00 per hour thereafter, charged at half hour intervals of £12.50. If your PC or Laptop cannot be cost effectively repaired on site, then, by agreement with you, this can be transported to our workshop. Standard repair costs will apply, see below for information. Your PC or Laptop is usually returned within 2- 5 days.

Area supported is within 8 miles from either Chelmsford or Rayleigh.
From 8 to 20 miles outside Chelmsford or Rayleigh an additional £15.00 may be charged. Outside these distances, by agreement only, please call 01268 786611 for more information.

Pricing (Workshop) Note: - these costs are a guide and for labour only. Replacement components and software is at additional cost, you would be informed of this prior to work being undertaken.

Standard workshop repair service - £39.99. This will include fault diagnosis and attempted repair.
If the PC or Laptop requires the operating system (Windows XP, Vista or 7) to be reinstalled, the initial cost will be £45.00. *This will include drivers updates and their installation.
Drivers not supplied by the customer, can attract an additional charge of £5.00/each.
Attempted data backup and restore (from single location upto 20 Gig Byte) from £29.99.
Attempted deep level data recovery with virus and spyware removal from £79.99.
Separate Virus/Spyware/Adware removal only. From £29.99.

No Extra Charge

There is no extra charge if you wish to have new components fitted to your computer whilst it is in for a Health Check or repair.
Rival companies charge in the region of £15.00 plus VAT per item on top of their standard charge.

Data Backup

Please be advised that it is the individual customer's responsibility to back up their own data.
If you require us to back up your data, please give us written instructions detailing which folders the data is located in.
Whilst we do our utmost to protect and store all customer data for two weeks, we cannot be held responsible for lost data on an individual's PC.
